The annual Berkshire Hathaway shareholder’s letter has been out for a few hours now, and plenty of journalists are analyzing the contents. It looks like good news for Berkshire shareholders. The following positive excerpt comes from Warren’s letter:
Our gain in net worth during 2009 was $21.8 billion, which increased the per-share book value of both our Class A and Class B stock by 19.8%. Over the last 45 years (that is, since present management took over) book value has grown from $19 to $84,487, a rate of 20.3% compounded annually.

Good morning,
I just sent an email to Adrienne?. I grew up with my 13 siblings down the street from Warren on 90th and Dodge. Most all of us own Brk-B stock. We are all looking for our shareholders packets to submit our credentials for the meeting. To date I have not received anything. I have purchased my airline tickets to come back to Omaha. I am concerned. Should I have received something by now and how do I go about getting in for the meeting and events coming up.
Thanks so much for your attention to my email,
Mary Larsen
Good Afternoon Mary,
Sorry to hear that you have not received anything yet. According to the Berkshire Hathaway website (http://www.berkshirehathaway.com/meet01/2010meet.pdf), the proxy statement that you have to mail to claim passes should have come with the 2009 Annual Report. I believe that those reports should have arrived in March.
If you never received a 2009 Annual Report, you may want to contact Berkshire directly.
Best of Luck,
Bill, the blogger
