Borsheims without the Berkshire Hathaway shareholders

Tuesday, April 19th, 2011
You out of town shareholders may not realize this, but Borsheims is a large jewelry store with plenty of space to roam and shop during the other 362 days of the year! (We love having each of you here, but know that 40,000 shareholders in the store during one weekend can get a little tight!)

So… how about seeing what we look like on a non-Berkshire Hathaway annual shareholder weekend kind of day?

We actually have a parking lot in front of the store... not just a large party tent.

Inside the store, without thousands of shareholders, you can almost see from one entrance to the other.

In Regency Court, there's room for sitting and listening to the piano when it's not packed with shareholders, bridge tables and bars.

Berkyville Picnic

Berkyville Party TentGood Evening Weekenders,

The theme for this year’s shareholder meeting is Saturday in the Park, and no Saturday in the park would be complete without a picnic. Lucky for us, Nebraska Furniture Mart (NFM) decided to throw us a picnic. The Berkyville picnic started at 5:30 p.m. and it will be serving until 8 p.m. Stop by and enjoy a pulled pork sandwich, chips and a cookie for only $5. While you are there, make sure and take advantage of your shareholder discount at the nation’s largest home furnishing retailer. They have a 77-acre campus that is bound to have anything you need. They Welcome Shareholdersoffer a wide selection of furniture, flooring, appliances and electronics.

You can follow all the Berkshire Hathaway action at NFM on their Twitter account at @NFMTweets. See you bright and early tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. over at Borsheims for the brunch.

Berkshire Shareholder Weekend Entertainment Pt. 1

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

Hello Berkshire Weekenders,

If you come to the Berkshire Shareholder’s Weekend every year, then you already know how much fun it is. If this will be your first year, I hope you are ready for two and a half days of capitalist partying. On this blog, we like to make all sorts of announcements (discounts, events, parties) about the upcoming Berkshire Weekend (April 30th-May 2nd).

We are happy to announce what bands will be playing at Borsheims over Berkshire weekend. On Friday night, at the Borsheims Cocktail Reception from 6-10pm, Soul Dawg will be entertaining in the tent.

The following info was taken from Soul Dawg‘s Facebook Fan Page.
Soul Dawg is a funk/rock band from the Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska area. This 7-piece group is comprised of an extremely tight rhythm section and a screaming 3-piece horn section that features the premier saxophone soloist in the area. The band’s singing talents are exceptional too, with lush 3 & 4-part vocal harmonies to back one of the Midwest’s finest male lead singers.Soul Dawg Soul Dawg‘s musical repertoire includes Top 10/soul/funk/R&B music from the 60s & 70s, including the songs of Earth, Wind, & Fire, Ohio Players, the Commodores, Kool & the Gang, and Stevie Wonder, to name a few.
Soul Dawg has been playing in the Omaha/Lincoln area for over 11 years, with a growing following. Since 2000, the band has played events with crowds in excess of 5,000 people, such as Ribfest and the Nebraska State Fair in Lincoln and the summer concert series of Village Pointe, Shadow Lake, and South Pointe malls in Omaha and Lincoln. The band has received high acclaim from area club owners, having played shows to capacity crowds at many large venues in southeast Nebraska.
Can’t wait to see you at the party Friday night!

Best,
